Off the Scale #48 - Antonin Dvořák's "New World" Symphony (otherwise known as Symphony No. 9)

Hello everyone!

We're getting closer now, to number fifty and I've got a rather special celebration coming up that will begin in a fortnight's time so be sure to stay tuned to this blog for that.

Today, to avoid getting too far ahead of ourselves, I'm bringing up the "New World" Symphony from Antonin Dvořák. This is a piece that is as epic as it is emotive in my opinion so it's high time I share it with you...

The New World

This particular rendition of the symphony that is always recognisable for it's melody, is from the New York Philharmonic’s 175th anniversary season, and I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do every time I listen to it.

At nearly 45 minutes long, it is one epic piece but I cannot pick a single snippet of it without taking it out of the grandiose scale that is the whole and so, to understand the whole, you should listen to it whole!

Peace!
