New Laptop - YAY!!!

Whassup bro's!

As the title gives away, I've just today picked up my new laptop and wanted to take a moment to tell you all about it...

Tolerance, Or the Art of Friend Making

Whassup, bro's!

This posting comes on the back on an interesting few days I've had.

Firstly there was the recent "scandal" involving a certain Pastor, Creflo Dollar, whom you have heard me support in recent times. I use parentheses because until this resolves itself one way or the other, it's an accusation yet to have action taken on it. Yes, I may have to re-think my support for his ministry later on down the line, I don't doubt that.

The only question I have at this time, further for me to add, is that I am not at all sure whether that's right to ask for $300 or more from your congregation when you're supposed to be leading people to a higher way of living; Jesus Christ. We are not called to judge, for there is only one Judge, but it makes you think, is all.

I'm not spending much more time on that than necessary, because that's liable to create some interesting thoughts that are best left unsaid at this time.

The Weakened State (Or Letting the Right One's In) - Part I

Whassup, bro's!

How y'all doin'? I trust you're having a good Friday so far!

It is now official; I've received the cancellation notice from my insurer regarding my very first car, so now it's next stop DVLA to tell them my car is now off road for the foreseeable. At this point, I can either leave things in that position or I can be pro-active and pop it off to one of these cash for car-types so there's a quick injection of cash in my pocket.

At this rate, anything's better than nothing...

Don't Rock the Ship, Never Mind the Boat...

Well,

I'm sat here, at home, pondering what the future will hold now that my "exit interview" went ahead as planned only moments ago *phone rings

Sorry, had to take that, a phone call.interrupted my train of thought for a moment. It turns out that I'm meeting up with an agency tomorrow to discuss my job prospects, which again, like I've covered in my last post, is a change to the norm.

I was going to complain talk about my time at Avanta at this point, but this has certainly thrown a spanner into the works, hasn't it?

My Time Has Almost Come...

Easy now, bro's! :)

I hope you've all been having a good and positive start to yet another week in this cycle of life!

I have... though it has been a mixed bag of fortunes because I've gone from reading the detail with which God gave on the building of the Ark of the Covenant in Exodus, to another disappointment on the job front.

You Got The Music In You

Okay, let's get this started then, shall we?

I said recently I was going to conduct a little experiment on music and how it affects our mood, so here goes...

Enjoy The Simple Things In Life

What a wonderful evening I've had so far, bro's! :)

I hope the last posting on my blog was worth your time (ED - it's actually the next posting that he's referring to having written it before this one!), I know it was an awful lot of fun to contemplate what I was going to put into it because there are just so many quality songs out there. Who knows? Maybe I'll revisit that at some point and try another batch of songs out on you? :-P

Earlier, I watched one of my favourite films on my little portable DVD player sat on my front step of my flat, an activity I'm synonymous for, well, when I'm not reading that is.

One Foot In Front Of The Other

"You have your spirit and the Holy Spirit together assuring us of our identity." - Creflo Dollar, lead pastor of World Changers Church International

Maaaan,

Life at the minute is one pretty hefty slog for me as it's now likely that I'll have to get rid of my car as I cannot afford the mechanic bill, but such is life...

Greater things than that have broken me before now, so I will not, I... WILL... NOT... let it be the redefining of me whether I have a car or not! :)

I've felt like giving up a lot lately on life, on, well, everything and it just goes to show that, with a little perseverance and a looot of tenacity, you can get to a point where you think that maybe you won't give up on your hopes and dreams after all!

Lightens Up The Horizon

This is the other half of the last posting, entitled "This Long & Darkened Road", that I just happened to feel like posting right now, ta!

Whassup, bro's!

First of all let me just say a big thank you to all those who've been closest to me during this time where I've struggled to keep my eyes upon the prize I'm heading toward.

I've had up's and down's before now, but none have been like slipping like the sand dunes as you try to clamber up them. I feel like I'm in the throes of a yo-yo personality transplant, which is not helpful I know because I'm supposed to be building my life upon the Rock that is Jesus...

Love So High

"Love so high, deeper than the deepest sea. So wide, waves are washing over me. I'll be, in Your arms forever."

Hey bro's!

This posting comes off the back of a good service this morning at !Audacious Church, my self-professed home away from home and I want to make it clear, get it on the record that I am, categorically, not giving up on my God-given destiny!

This surge comes from being fed up of feeling like I'm left behind as the rescue ship leaves with other survivors in this life, or in other words, you could say that I've grown tired of wondering "why me" so much when life goes wrong around me...

This Long & Darkened Road

'Ey up, everyone!

I hope you're all having a good weekend so far, I wish I could join you in the land of the pleasant because at the moment I'm feeling fed up!

Why?

Simples, what started off as a simple sounding problem for my car has revealed something else wrong. Unfortunately, that would only have been discovered had I walked down this very path that I have gone down in replacing the car battery effectively controlled & regulated by the alternator.

In replacing the battery, in other words, it revealed something else was amiss, that the battery wasn't the culprit after all, but part of a bigger problem...!

What Times We Live In...

Whassup, bro's!

I've just been splitting my sides to the latest antics from Angry Grandpa, so if you don't know who he is, then go check him out on the Youtube! ;)

I never thought seeing someone put salt in a cup of coffee could result in such a humorous reaction, go check it out for yourself but be warned, if you don't like swearing then this video is not for you! :-P

Restarting & Recharging

Whassup, bro's!

Today is the best that I've felt in a long time since my admission in my battle with depression. I believe they said that the first step on the road to recovery is to admit that you've got a problem, so I did.

Anyways, I was going to make a posting dedicated to this year's Classic FM Hall of Fame... go on, click it, I dare you! Boss, isn't it?

Instead I've taken a different approach and just posted some classical thoughts along with a bit of a life update...

He Has Risen...

Whassup, bro's!

This is just a quick posting to wish those of you that celebrate it a happy Easter Sunday!

Now, I'm not referring to the bunny wabbit & chocolate easter eggs, I'm talking about the real reason for the season that is the death & resurrection of my Lord & Saviour, Jesus Christ...

Before I start, let me give you an ice-breaker to show I mean you no hard feelings, again, if you don't believe what I do: -

See? Even I can laugh at that one! ;)

By the time this goes live I'll be up and around ready for the so-called "Family Friendly" service at Limeside Methodist Church later on this morning.

I realise that I tread a careful line being a blogger & being a Christian because there are certain things that I am not willing to post links to on here because I am representing my faith.

What Does Jesus' Resurrection Mean For Me?

Easy, bro's, it means that the power used to bring Christ back from the dead has been implanted on the inside of me & every other Christian with the potential for everyone else to benefit from said awesome power if they would only look for it.

You could call it the VIN number that we've all been given but in order to access the power that comes with it, one should accept Christ as Lord & Saviour of their life. I'm not ashamed to say this because it's what I believe and people cannot take that away from me.

Sticks and stones, bro's, stick and stones! :-P

Anyways, I go further than saying it's been implanted into me because it allows me to tackle situations with not only God, but Jesus & the whole of heaven's armies at my back. This gives me the extra confidence to face said situations because as long as I am heading in a direction God wants me to go then I can rest assured that as long as I step out when asked to, He will go on ahead and fight my battles.

Jesus' victory was already won on that cross over 2000 years ago and it is high time I realised that the true nature of the finished work means that we fight the good fight of faith from the finished line and not the starting line as though some kind of effort was required on my part.

NEWSFLASH!!! It's not about what we've done, but what God has done for each and every one of us!

We don't have to accept the gift, that's the amazing part because of His grace, we can shun it if we like, but there are consequences in the end, there always are.

This guy is one of my favourite musicians and the concert this was taken from was certainly one to open eyes if one would only stop and take the time to listen, I mean really listen to the words he was singing.

So, that being said, I think the only thing left for me to say is that I hope you all have a great Easter Sunday & try not to fill up on chocolate, I know I won't! ;)

One final video I'd like to link to at this point is from Dustin Smith and it simply says "He's alive, our King has won": -

I don't need to say any more!

Peace off!

Keeping It Real...

CAUTION: The following post may contain triggers for some people, so rather than issue an advisory notice, this is a general caution.

Hey bro's!

I originally made a start on this post only moments ago, but I since scrapped it and decided to take a vastly different approach because I just felt that words were falling onto the page aimlessly.

I must admit that this is certainly liberating for me, writing on a blog like this and you would not believe the amount of problems I've been able to get a new perspective on, simply by writing down my thoughts exactly as they come to me on here...

A F-F-F-Friday That's Good in More Than One Way...

Hey everyone!

How y'all doing? I trust you're having a "good" Friday today?

I know I am and it's largely in part due to the number of days I'm better able to clock up where I just don't feel the pull of hopeless despair that I have been when in the worst of my depression bouts.

You could say it's all a matter of perspective...
