Dawn of the Dragon Slayer Review

This was one of those films that I picked up for something like 50p in CeX not so long ago, but it had been lying with my other piles of DVDs unwatched, so as there was nothing on TV yesterday afternoon I thought I'd stick it in my portable DVD player and watch it.

I was pleasantly surprised by it because, having bought enough cheap DVDs in the past, I often have a standard I use whereby the cheaper it is for me, the lower I will set my standards for graphics, acting, story and so on.

This was one of those occasions where I can honestly say that whatever I paid for it, was money worth spending...

More Than Enough? Of COURSE God Is!

He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering." Mark 5:34 (NIV)

Wow!

What can I say that I haven't... no, wait, that's not the way to start this one... take two! :-D

Let me just say that I am feeling like my old self all over again now because of the monumental breakthrough experiences I had at church yesterday!

I'll talk more about them in a more in-depth posting later on this week, for now I want to cover the new series of devotionals that I've started this week titled "More Than Enough"...

Immortals Review

Well, I've just finished watching Immortals and, again, I'm struck by how it captivated me the first time around.

Seeing Henry Cavill (who would of course go on to play the Man of Steel himself a few years later) as Theseus, the way he took the role and made it his own, was to me a sign of what was seen in him during his time on The Tudors; a versatile actor who would become whatever role he was given...

The Hunger Games Review

Well, I've just finished watching The Hunger Games and all I can say is... what a film! :-D

I admit I was dismissive when I first saw the trailer a few years ago but having seen Divergent not so long ago, I thought I'd give it a chance to impress me.

Boy has it!

60 Seconds of Faith - Episode #0038

It's Friday and you know what that means!

Today sees episode 38 of my broadcast so I hope you enjoy it because we're starting off a new series of devotionals for the next three weeks or so!

What does it mean for God to be more than enough for us...?

Return of the Crush - Just Let Them Talk!

Hello everyone!

I'm making an official declaration that right here, right now, May 2016, I'm not going to stop talking about a certain crush I'm currently working through. The 'why' is simple; because God is saying an awful lot to me through this and proving to me that, time and again, He can be trusted as can His word!

He is Love and what greater way to pay my own form of respect than to continue writing through exactly what I'm currently walking through!

This way, I can hopefully show the "test" that is going into my testimony as I go along...

Intimidation in the Rear View Mirror

It's been a while since I've had a devotional free to talk about pretty much whatever I want to, as opposed to recent ones that have covered specific subjects raised in my "60 Seconds of Faith" broadcast.

I'm writing this with Planetshakers' #Let's Go blaring from my laptop speakers having been utterly blown away by them last night at church as they rounded off the final leg of their European tour by coming to !Audacious Church before jetting off back to Australia.

What an event, what an evening and what an encouragement they all were...!

60 Seconds of Faith - Episode #0037

Hey everyone!

I originally wrote this week's "60 Seconds..." post earlier this week, and whilst my general mood might have changed and I'm having a much healthier outlook on life, physically speaking I'm not feeling so grand.

But don't worry, this week's episode is still uploaded! :-)

A Change of Heart & A Change of Fortune

It's funny how you can go from being melancholic one week, to feeling like things are slowly, slowly, beginning to come together sunny side up.

I've just listened to Russell Watson performing "Va Pensiero" and I must admit that it always reminds me of a time where I wasn't so easily led astray by my emotions and I suppose that was the price I paid for opening up about a certain crush.

Coding: A Welcome Distraction From Things

Hello everyone!

As you can tell from the title this actually is not one where I'll wax lyrical like I have been doing these past few weeks about a certain crush I'm having on someone!

As a matter of fact, I've just finished coding my first game; a choose your own adventure-style one!

Yay! Go me...

Outfitting A Solution God's Way II: The Right Way

What makes you touch?
What makes you feel?
What makes you stop and smell the roses in an open field?
What makes you unclean?
'Wrong Way' by Creed

Hi,

I'm feeling in a bit of a melancholic mood right now because of certain events I've gradually been opening up about on here, so please bear with me as I work through this in the weeks ahead.

This week, I'm going to continue looking at what I raised in last week's post; what happens when we try to come up with a solution to our problem that only God can provide...

60 Seconds of Faith - Episode #0036

It's that time and, yes, it's a little late this week!

But still, that's the price I pay for some of the things that I've been talking about lately because they're really weighing heavy on my heart at the moment. :-(

It's not easy, but you've gotta carry on nonetheless, right?

No Crush Quite Like It

Is karma gonna get me?
At times that's all I see
It's not real
'Drowning' by Stereophonics

That's right, it's crush talk time!

I hope you're finding this beneficial because I am and in finally being able to talk about what I am going through, I am finally able to get closure on so many old wounds, hurts and pain from the past that I had been inadvertently holding onto all these years.

Last time out, I shared a trifecta of postings (ED - find them here, here & here) to give you an update on where I am at today as far as my feelings for this person go.

Outfitting A Solution God's Way

"Cut the cord, are we human, or are we dancers?
My sign is vital, my hands are cold,
And I'm on my knees looking for the answer;
Are we human? Or are we dancer?"
'Human' by The Killers

Hello everyone!

I must admit that I'm feeling completely vulnerable right now.

Ever since I started being open and up front about what having a crush was doing to me both on here and to my closest friends, it's taken me in directions I never expected to go in.

All I was trying to do was to show you that even I have issues that I'm dealing with, so if anybody tells you that you're not perfect, just say "I know, but I'm dealing with it".

This week, I want to take quite a daring look at what having our own expectations can do to the life we are living.

60 Seconds of Faith: Episode #0035

Hello everyone!

I'm so pleased to have just passed four hundred posts and at last check, I've clocked in at over five thousand views so at least some people are interested enough in hearing what I have to say!

Thank you, I could not have done it without you, every single one of you that's read my amusing and sometimes ostentatious ramblings, especially as I try to work my way through a crush. ;-)

You'll be able to tell those posts a mile off from now on as I'll be sure to feature such a word as "crush" in the title, okay...?

Crush Me Do Part III: Gradually and Fairly

Heehee!

It seems that two parts aren't even enough for what I want to talk about, which is naturally how I am dealing with my crush.

I like this, I never thought that I would get to a stage where I could be comfortable talking about it on here, let alone to other people but rest assured that, for now, the people that need to know actually do know what I am going through.

I'm still rocked by the revelation I made and how obvious it must have been to her that I liked her, so it's no wonder she backed me off by saying what she did!

I would have said it too...

Crush Me Do Part II: Victory in the Making

Even though I am writing this right after the last part, it's not going to go up until today, Tuesday, but that's the price that I pay these days for having a lot to say.

I don't want to make it sound like I'm obsessing over something/one that I shouldn't be, I just want to make sure everyone who reads this is aware that even as followers of Christ, we too have struggles.

But it is even in great struggles like this that, with great pride, I take comfort in a verse like this: -
I have said these things to you so that, united with me, you may have shalom. In the world, you have tsuris. But be brave! I have conquered the world! John 16:33 (CJB)
I don't even need to explain why I take comfort, do I?

Crush Me Do Part I: A Storm of My Own Doing

Hi everyone!

I've got a lot on my mind at the moment, ever since I met up with my friend Matt and he suggested I confront a certain person with how I am feeling.

To me, and I want to get this out of the way right away, that sounds like a silly thing to do because I barely know this person and, stuck record as I clearly am right now, to do so could very well ruin even the potential of a great friendship.

But also it might not...
