Hey everyone!
Last night I finished a video-game I've been thoroughly enjoying for the past few days; the og Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Given that I've been going backward to fill up my catalogue of video-games on PS3, it makes sense to review my latest capture having bought it last year, yet only played it this, meaning that it will qualify for my 2023 awards I do in December.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
I'm on a break from my PC just now, so have been spending more time gaming via my console, which has been nice given that this is where my video-game journey began; way back when on console.
For me, this was like playing an interactive action movie with bombastic set pieces connected together by a plot that actually serves as a vehicle quite competently to deliver you from one mission to the next.
You take on the roles of Gary "Roach" Sanderson of Task Force 141 and James Ramirez of the Rangers with missions varying in intensity from standard infiltrate and gtfo missions, to missions requiring you to utilise a drone strike. All done, as I've said, in a very bombastic manner.
One time, I nearly bombed the ever loving shi... HELL out of myself such did I completely disregarded my own placement on the drone camera... wanting to hear the almighty BOOM! of a successful strike over my own personal safety lol
This video-game is one I'll be glad to play through again, though can only imagine how in the ever loving hell I'll get through some of the more tougher missions on the higher difficulties. Like the twisty streets overwhelmed by terrorists.
Final Thoughts
In addition to this there are some extra missions you can do, most of which seem to recreate certain set-pieces taken straight from the game to unlock some extras. Along with the obligatory multiplayer which people are still playing to this day...I shi- kid you not!
I tried jumping in a multiplayer lobby and as soon as, literally, as soon as I'd selected my game type the game said "here you go!" and threw me in to a waiting team deathmatch the way I can only imagine a lover would throw me a dinner on Valentine's Day before she... blech!!!
Wow! Still active nearly fifteen years later!
Peace!
