Hey everyone!
I hope you're all having a great week so far, I know I am!
Why? Well, these days the 'whys' are easier to answer than the rest because by the end of this week I will have had six interviews in the last five weeks, that's right, six in five, baby, six in five!
So what of today's post?
It comes a day before my latest episode of "60 Seconds" and it just struck me on the back of something I read in a comment on a friend's Facebook post, who claimed that if my friend was to start a blog, then he should avoid games and anything overtly religious in his title...
First of all, I'm not going to touch all the things that are wrong with either of those statements!
Strong Words Ahead
Suffice to say, that annoyed me enough and poked me into action where I simply told my friend that if he wants readers then adjust his content accordingly, but he should not at any cost water down his message just because some people might not like it or get offended by it.
Personally, and this is where I might get stick, but I could not care less; I don't give a damn if you don't like what I've got to say. It's my blog, you typed the address in or you clicked the link, bro'! :-D
The point I am making is that this is my platform and you know where the back button is if you want it! ;)
What this rant is designed to remind you is that it... is... okay... if someone doesn't like what you've got to say, it truly is okay. Not everyone will like what you've got to say. That's just part and parcel of life.
The point is, you should not try to please the haters, or appease those who think you should offend no one, upset no one and please everyone.
"Haters gonna hate" is an expression I've used on here before, so I'll use it again. They often hate because of jealousy that you're doing something either that they're not capable of, better than they are, or have actually started to achieve your dreams as opposed to just talking about them all the time like they do.
Let me just wind my temperament in, because whilst I should point out that once you've got your message, you have to be willing to fight for it to be told no matter what, not everyone sees the way you do!
I'm adding right here, at this point, that tolerance works both ways.
You're on my blog now.
You're on my grounds now, fella.
I've proven already that I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus and this is why: -
All I am saying here is that whilst I have no problem with you whether you are Jew, Gentile, Greek, slave, free, whatever... what I do have a problem with is the moment you start trying to gag my message. I won't force it down your throats when I'm with you, but when you're on my territory reading these words that are falling onto the screen that I pored over just now, just know that I will speak my mind! :)For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God’s power for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16 HCSB (emphasis added)
Final Thought
Wow!
It's been a while since my last rant, I cannot even remember when I last ranted like this, but it had to be said and hopefully it's got you thinking about your attitudes towards others with different attitudes to yourself. It's okay that they don't believe what you believe, in the way that you believe. It really is.
Just don't be afraid of speaking your mind, okay?
To the social assassins go the spoils! :-D
Or something like that...
Peace off!
