Off the Scale #25 - Asturias by Isaac Albéniz

Hello everyone!

Here we are, the quarter century milestone celebrating all things classical music, did you ever see that coming?! I didn't!

When I started this series back in February, I never expected to get here so fast, yet here we are so a big thank you for your support!

This week, we're keeping in with last week's theme of classical guitar music and it's the turn of Isaac Albéniz and his piece knowns simply as "Asturias"...

Asturias

Again, like so many others of my collection, I discovered this through Classic FM (I guess you could say I'm a one-man advertising hoarding for them atm lol!) some years ago, probably around the same time as I did last week's piece and I wanted to share it with you all. May you be blessed by this as you watch it with your cup of tea and a biscuit: -

Seeing these pieces performed so beautifully gives me hope that, one day, I'll be able to perform with such emotion that John Williams has done in all his years of music composition. He is easily, along with Howard Shore, one of my favourite composers of the modern era.

Keep logging on every Monday so that you can see some of the best pieces that have helped shape me into the connoisseur of classical music that I am today.
