Naruto? I Can't Take Anymore!

Ha!

What a way to start this quick post!

For the past 20 weeks, I've been trying to watch Naruto from the very beginning and I just... can't... get... into it!

It's just too cheesy, and that awful theme tune? The epitome of cheese!

A show is often defined by its theme, some of which just do not age well. This doesn't.

This is an opinion I can be satisfied with given that I have stuck with it for 20 episodes rather than giving up after one or two.

I tried to like it, I really did, but I don't.

All at a Loss

Hello everyone!

This is a sad one for me to have to write this... in the middle of last month, my father went to be with the Lord.

It has hit me really hard and, admittedly, left me all at a loss what to do with myself. I don't know what mornings are like, especially as I find I'm sleeping in until early afternoons at the moment. But I'm trying to give myself the grace to cope with my grief the best way I can.

In the grand scheme of things, at least daddy is out of the way of the harm that this world causes people, that's a big plus, especially when I consider what the world has done to lesser men than my dad.

I'm still gaming, at the moment working my way through Relicta, an intriguing physics-based puzzler that I hope to take a look at in a bit more detail here once I've finished the game. I'm about two-thirds done with it...

I still want to blog so I'll see you soon.

Star Trek: Discovery

Hello everyone!

I've just finished watching the pilot of Star Trek: Discovery and boy do I like what I've just seen!

This is not a review, as such, I just wanted to throw out there that I think this show (in my view!), has potential for me to invest my time into. I'm wary if I get into a show after production shuts down in case it turns out to be a gem that got culled in its prime (Defiance and Colony are just two examples).

This show is everything the J.J. Abrams films has in terms of production style so if you don't like those and you haven't seen the show, that's food for you to consume before you decide whether to invest.

I'm going to be watching this throughout the festive season now that my summer programmes have gradually come to an end so that'll go some way to filling in the void left.

 Hello everyone,

As you can see, I am significantly out of practice with blogging, with the last entry coming in July of this year and here we are, nearly at Christmas. It happens as seasons come and seasons go in a person's life and I would rather be candid with you so I don't end up making and breaking promises like I have done in the past.

Last time I said that things had changed permanently so would not be able to commit to any kind of significant return to blogging action.

That still remains true today.

It doesn't mean that I won't be blogging, just that I will be focusing more on quality than on quantity.

It's a shame as it did add significant value during the time I was able to commit. I don't see those days returning any time soon. I just don't.

But such is life.

Quite a While

Hi,

It has been quite some time since I last updated this blog, almost a year, I believe, but that is because as I am sure I have said before, my priorities have been changing so very much. The pandemic has forced me to reassess my priorities and act accordingly to ensure I'm giving the appropriate time and attention to what matters most to me.

In the days ahead, I hope to rectify this in my return to blogging, but it's going to take time for me to resurrect desire to regularly post.

My priorities have changed. Permanently.

In days like these where it can be too easy to forget one's blessings, it is helpful to have an anchor point in scripture where we can go to be reminded of the fact that all that we need for this life has already been made available to us.

It has been my aim, ever since God redirected my focus of this blog to more spiritual matters, to hopefully give examples of this manifest blessing in my own life so that you can see the power in transparency...
