Hey there!
I'm going to try and make this as quick and painless as possible, this next posting because this is Sunday morning, at just gone twenty past eight UK time and I've got places to go, people to see, things to do! ;)
When coming up with what I was going to talk about in my "60 Seconds..." broadcast, I was thinking what could follow up on previous episodes; so far, we've had two on perseverance and then this week's episode comes along.
What are my conclusions then...?
Perseverance + Fixed Goals = Achieving The Dream Life
That it is all well and good having perseverance by the bucketload, but that is of little use if you've got nowhere to aim it. It's alright having a go at a thousand and one things under the sun, but if none of them are your forte then surely you are wasting your time. Yes, I mean there is the chance that you will become good at it with practice, but some things are beyond even the most dedicated individual.
Now, whilst I believe in championing people to be the best they possibly can be, it's important that you find out what you are good at and work on becoming that best version of yourself because it's no doubt been known that people have wasted their lives on a calling that was never really theirs to begin with.
A Wasted Life is NOT The Way to Live
Have you ever completed an activity only to think 'well that was a complete waste of my time'? Why was that? Was it because you got nothing out of it? Or was it because, when the dust settled after it was all over, you just realised that it wasn't worth your time, efforts and energy after all?
I know all too well that I have my limitations and I am just so thankful for those experiences that have brought me face to face with them recently or else I would never have known that to continue in that direction would lead to consequences I was never meant to face.
What I am getting at here is to consider that, once you find your calling, what you're good at, what makes you feel more truly alive then I have one more question to ask you; is it worth it?
It's a question to consider because if your calling is worth it, then you will no doubt do whatever it takes to see it come to pass, be it sticking out a course until the very end to get the qualification or sticking at a job you don't like now but you know will contribute towards the sort of life you want to live in the future.
For me, I have visions of one day being a father to many, many children, lol, which of course means I need to find the woman of my dreams beforehand!
As Dr. Sheldon Lee Cooper from the sitcom The Big Bang Theory realised when his sister came to town, the possibility of another person with his intellect had the potential to reside right in his very sister's womb; naturally, he was going to be concerned about who she ended up dating & eventually copping off with! :D
What I'm simply getting at is that it is my duty to seek out the best & most compatible example of godliness wrapped up in womanhood lest I see my household fall upon the sand!
This is the mother of my children I am talking about here so no rash decisions can I afford to make, no 'settling' can I afford, especially as it's the future of my household that is at stake.
My future wife could be any one of a number of suitable candidates at my church, so my options are not limited as that is where I firmly believe that she is, even to this day! ;)
All I can say for the moment is: -
The way I see it, now more than ever, is that God has got all the details of our eventual meeting in hand, so I just have to trust & step, trust & step.
My final thought then, as I bring episode 3's companion posting to a close rather belatedly, is simple. I've talked about having goals now for a while, haven't I? We have looked at the good and the not so good, so all we have to do is fix them in our minds in such a way that we will never forget them, never, never, NEVER!!!
Get your goals in mind, make sure they're constructive and likely to help build you into a better you and watch what happens because things have a habit of working out for those that want them just as equally as for those that don't!
So get your goals in mind, keep meditating on them day & night speak life into them ie. speak positively into & about them, and watch what happens... you too can live the good life, if you'll only stop doubting and believe!
Peace off!

"But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15 (emphasis added)
