Whassup bro's!
This entry comes off the back of a day trip to Blackpool to see my sister and her son (my nephew, of course!) on their holidays, before we went on to St. Anne's for the afternoon.
You know it comes as no surprise that it was a fantastic day even though I knew we'd be leaving them behind (because they're staying 'til Saturday before you get any thoughts, HA!) which caused disappointment to rise up within...
This is how much they mean to me and it's been my job to make sure that they know that they're the world to me, they're blood and as blood runs thicker than water, so I do more for them than I would any other person, brah.
I've not had a holiday this year (can I get an 'awwwww', peeps?) but that's down to a choice that I made, opting to give 100 porciento (or 'percent' to you non-Spanish-speaking mooks out there, lol!) to 'The Idea'. Personally I am fully convinced that was a wise move at the time as starting up a business requires my full attention to ensure that I miss no signs of the direction I'm supposed to take this in, especially now I know that it's gonna go global (yes, my quest for global domination is under construction, HA!)!
I've told you all before what I think you all should do; have a goal you live for and give 110% to it, no matter what... no matter frickin' what!
Why? Well see my last post if you wanna know the answer to that question, lol...
Anyways, going out today was the perfect tonic to the daily slog that is life at the minute, but I don't mean it in a derogatory way toward myself or what I stand for or that makes a mockery of it. I simply consider it a tremendous privilege to be able to do what I did, having an empty calendar & a less than empty mind to just take off like that.
Life is a gift, so I'm determined to make the most of every single day that I have so that I can reach the end and say 'not a moment, wasted I'!
I've waxed lyrical about what I think we all should do, so I'm not going to repeat myself this time, instead I'll just change the subject and say that though we waited almost an hour to be fed at one restaurant (compared with a similar wait time for another so you could almost say c'est la vie, bro's!), I had the most AMAZING burrito, amigos. Lined with yoghurt, salsa & guacamole on the top, it was simply divine and was made to make me forget all about the ridiculous wait times...
I'm telling you, I could have been all p***ed like & kicked up a right stinking fuss (you know, I say screw that frickin' "stiff upper lip" that we Brits have become known for, where does it get you except leave you without a spine!), but right now, my mind is set on far higher things!
Instead, I played 'Peacemaker' & casually strolled to the staff/called them over to first ascertain where our order was, and then by the time we'd almost finished our's, my sister's hadn't even arrived!
When asked, they went and pretty much got it straight away, lol, so it makes you wonder if it wasn't just waiting for us, being held back (that's one for the conspiracy theorists, HA!) deliberately.
So you see what I did there? I saw what was wrong and casually, like I do most occasions, did something about it! I didn't just sit there b**ch & moan about it & SAY NOTHING like so many other Brits frickin' would; that's for pussies!
In short, what have I learned from today? Well, first and foremost not to put back what you pick up if it interests you (in this case it was the novelisation of Stormbreaker, having got the DVD already) & is affordable, which btw, won't get more affordable than 4 books for 99p in a charity shop!
Secondly, just like I always say, time is only what you make of it so if you blow it doing stupid & pointless things, then don't come complaining to me that you've no time to do anything seeing as you wasted the grains of sand that were given to you in the first place! ;)
Final Thought
In closing then, let me leave you with a stark reminder that it doesn't matter where you go, or what you do... there you are!
No, seriously though, wherever you go each day whether you work/don't work just remember that your life is only a fleeting glimpse, isn't it? So are you going to leave a lasting legacy for those you've left behind? Or will your life be a sad collection of missed opportunities? Think about that one folks, think about it before it's too late to decide! ;)
Peace out!
The Lanky Penguin
