Whassup bro's!
I hope you enjoyed last week's posting of some thoughts I've been having lately, if you haven't caught up yet, then here's another chance to do so.
This time out, and as part of a new series I'll be titling "Faith Filled Friday" intended to be a devotional-type released most Fridays, I'm going to be looking at what you do once you've let someone into your own secret little world. You've given them permission to get to know you better, but then what? What happens after that?
Okay, now you've 'let them in', what next? Easy, and yet this is often the most difficult part because the closer you let them get to you, the more you risk getting hurt, which is a big no-no for some. Yet, somehow, some way, we have to ascend past all of those feelings and let said person provide the comfort & advice that you need.
It's not going to always be what you need to hear, but you need to give them the grace to tell you sometimes what you don't want to hear. The reason that you would do that is to show them that they will not be judged for at least trying to help you in your daily life.
I'll say it again, people need people, there's no two way's about it. You might read that and laugh because you don't need anyone, but remember what I said the last time I was addressing those feelings, it results oftentimes in you being sheltered in your own four walls of an existence with no one able to get near to you in case they hurt you.
The Graphic Nature of Love
I've been hurt before, I've had women tell me they 'just want to be friends' despite my romantic feelings for them. That hurts. That stings a lot and you'll know what I mean if you've ever been hurt by love before. Instead of Cupid hitting you with an arrow, it's more like a spear ripped with barbs down either side of the head that when it hits an unrequited target, the spear is yanked backwards complete with bits of your heart (ED - or "grief" for the squeamish out there!) attached!
Is that graphic enough for you? Do you think I've been hurt before? Do you believe me now as I offer up what simple little advice that I can? Do you also see now why it is my mission to help those around me realise the best in themselves no matter where they go or what they do?
I want you to believe that you, like me, represent the cream of the milk of life that will always, always rise to the top no matter the occasion. No matter what comes at you, you need to realise that you have that bounce-back within you that says 'I'm not letting this setback be the making or breaking of me'!
From time to time you may bend, but like the palm tree, you will bounce back!Keep that in mind next time you're going through a trial. It's just temporary. Everything's just temporary. What you're going through, to quote Creflo Dollar, has an expiration date.
Yes I know I quote those two preachers an awful lot, it is just that their teachings have really shown me just how much we mean to God and how He loves us not because of anything we have done or can do but because of who He is!
Final Thought
Leaving off this particular topic gives me a great reminder that I am called for excellence and not mediocrity in life, once more, and I'm going to do my damnedest to strive for that excellence of "life to the full": -
A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. John 10:10 MSGNo matter what you're facing, bro's, remember there is Someone watching over you who's ready to lift you up out of your circumstances if you would but only look up and acknowledge Him.
It's a choice.
Peace off!
