Hello everyone!
Welcome to the second part of my trilogy looking at the vital importance of having the confidence, the belief in what you bring to the table every day.
Recently, I spoke up about knowing the value of yourself and how self-esteem can be such a delicate thing if it is not properly taken care of. I believe, for instance, that you could probably consider your own self-esteem like a family pet; if you treat it poorly or meanly, it can abandon you when you need it the most.
A Forced Analogy? Or Not?
Now the analogy might be a little forced, but what I'm trying to get across is the importance of not only having a reason for getting up every morning, as well as a renewed determination that you will keep going no matter what comes against you.
Recently, I have had a couple of my own friends come against me, with all due respect to them, trying to step into my life and manoeuvre me in the ways that they think that I should behave in relation to a certain, um, situation I've already mentioned on here before now!
I'll be blunt; anybody who has the audacity to step across the lanes onto my lane of life had better be ready for me to retaliate and insist that they get back onto their own lane because this is my life and I'm going to live it the best way that I can!
I don't have to justify my actions to anybody, except God, and that is what I'm going to do from here on out!
For crying out loud, even the pop punk band Good Charlotte got it right when they sang: -
"I won't look down, won't say I'm sorry
I know that only God can judge me"
That was, of course, taken from their song "Young & the Hopeless" and though I may still be young, I'm certainly not hopeless by any stretch of the imagination! :-D
Do you see what I'm doing here?
I'm showing just how much I really prove that I believe in myself, even in spite of having a crush, even in spite of recent failings.
I still believe in me!
No Matter if Nobody Believes in You, Somebody Always Does!
But what's more important in all of this is the unbeatable, unshakable fact that God Himself believes in me!
How do I know?
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:1 (NLT) emphasis added
See that right there?
"There is no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus" - how much plainer do I have to make it?
I do not stand condemned, damned, anything that suggests a negative connotation on the relationship of me & Christ.
But what about when I make a mistake?
Mistakes are inevitable, they are a fact of human life, we all make them no matter how hard we try to get it right every single time.
Here's the best bit; I'm still in right standing with God even then!
People can remind me of my failures and, though I have a tendency to recall everything in vivid detail thanks to my eidetic memory, I know that God has forgotten them, each and every one of them!
It's a simple fact that it is not about anything that I do or don't do, say or don't say, but it is about what Christ did for us on that cross all those years ago!
Now do you see why I believe in me?
Because God believes in me too!
So even when everyone around you is against you and no matter where you go, the people that don't seem to like you always find you, know this; God knows you and He believes in you just as you are!
Final Thought
So then, heading into the final part of my trilogy on Thursday, know this; no matter where you go, know that I believe in you, each and every one of my trusted and faithful readers and so does God...
So does God!
Peace out!
