Welfare Cuts - Right to the Bone

Whassup, bro's!

It's that time again, where I pick something to get on my soapbox over and this time it's these bloomin' welfare cuts that we knew were coming, but some buried heads in sand until they were upon us.

First, let me set the record straight, as a claimer of Jobseeker's Allowance I can see where this government are coming from as there is definitely a 'benefits culture' out there and I can understand why people such as Iain Duncan Smith (when he doesn't spout drivel like this, he's one of the few I respect) want to make sure it 'pays to work' because that's the way it should be, right? People should make more money when they're actually working rather than sat around on their lard ar$es doing jack all to find work...

See how I used the word 'should' there? Because we also know that there is a deficit at the moment in the jobmarket, however much people try to deny it, the jobs just AREN'T FRICKIN' THERE!

If they were, I'd be off benefits by now and believe you me I actually look forward to the day I start my new job, whatever that is 'cos it's better than this pittance I get for 'looking for work' that's for damn sure!

But the problem has come now with all the industries that have been allowed to go under without so much as a 'how can I help?'!

The problem comes when people such as the aforementioned person state that they 'can live on £53 per week...' there's my problem, what about the bills you've got to pay like gas/electricity/tv/internet (screw off if you think 'net is NOT a bill, it is when it kills the Idiot's Lantern dead anyways!), there's your rent, your water... and that's not even looking at what the heck you're gonna feed yourself with!

Bro's as a single legend like myself, I see these cuts as on the one hand necessary because our deficit has to be reduced, but what should be happening is that the cuts go across the board, from rich to poor (but of course that doesn't happen as those 'haves' would be hit as well!) not to those who can least afford it and no one else!

Here's one for you... from this month I have to start paying toward my council tax, which apparently is proof that I am not one of the worst off households in this country...

'Not one of the worst off'??? HORSES**T!!!

I'm on the breadline as far as income goes because all I have coming in is the JSA (and I've already made it abundantly clear how I'm trying to increase the q.o.l. I have!) and NOTHING ELSE!

So by that logic, according to those in power I have more than enough to pay bills/live on/feed/clothe myself (though I can't remember when I could actually afford to do that properly!) and should therefore start paying towards the council tax as well? Spit happens I suppose, bro's?

Before those of you have the gall to start b*tchin that it's about time I start contributing read the preceding paragraph again, man! Don't tell me you weren't in that position at one point!

What I will say here is that the sooner I get working, the frickin' better!

Yeah, I'll have to pay full council tax and rent, but that's the price I pay for living the life of awesomeness I live!

The main reason I want to get off benefits is that I'll actually have more than two pennies (sic!) to rub together to start a fire. I believe, bro's, in putting into the system and not being a leech, like the scroungers of society (I could use less polite words, but I won't 'cos I'm better than that, lol!) that make the news!

'Nuff said? Thought so!

Peace out, bro's!
