Borderlands

Borderlands,

A game I've sunk plenty of hours in over the years whilst both loving, yet hating the experience all in fairly equal measure.

It's an enjoyable videogame with a script that has all sorts of puns and who can forget the adorable, dancing CL4PTR4P.

I'm not normally one for self-aware videogames yet there's something about this that's endearing as the game never takes itself too seriously even going as far as to make jokes at its own expense.

The problem is that for every silver lining, there's a cloud attached to it.

Mortal Kombat (2021) Review

Well...

It's review time again and, this time, I'm looking at a film I've had in my Prime video watch list for some time now; Mortal Kombat (2021).

I've some very strong things to say about this, so I'll save it for after the jump.

Onto the specifics...

Coronavirus

As you will no doubt be aware by now, the globe is currently under the throes of a health crisis known as Covid19. It has already claimed numerous lives as well as affected countless others, from workers to shoppers.

We all need to stand together in times like this.

The ransacking of shop shelves shows, sadly, that we are indeed living in the midst of a selfish generation, new decade or not. It is proof that many of us are looking no further than our noses as far as how we live our lives.

But it is not for me to decry, or to attack, as instead I want to ask us all to consider whether we really do need even a fraction of things we are bulk-buying. Surely there comes a time when we need to recognise that there is more than just us in existence in this world.

Next time you are shopping and you're tempted by bulk buying think: -
Is this really necessary?
Think twice and buy once. Not multiple times.

Stay safe everybody!

RV008 - They Found Atlantis by Dennis Wheatley

Image result for they found atlantis

Hello everyone!

The next review is here now and it's from a rather interesting book I picked up at a charity shop not so long ago called "They Found Atlantis" by Dennis Wheatley. The copy I picked up looks nothing like the image I've chosen for this review, but I could hardly use an image of a blank red book with an elaborate golden trim now, could I?

SC001 Russia: The Enemy State? I Don't Think So!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the first in my social commentaries where I'm going to be looking at all sorts of issues and trying to lay down what is my view on such a subject. Don't think that you'll be able to predict what will come next because that's what I'm trying to master; the unpredictable.

Today, I wanted to start off by looking at an issue that's on everyone's lips (well, it is if you listen to what rhetoric the media is pumping out!) and that is Russia.

Immortals Review

Well, I've just finished watching Immortals and, again, I'm struck by how it captivated me the first time around.

Seeing Henry Cavill (who would of course go on to play the Man of Steel himself a few years later) as Theseus, the way he took the role and made it his own, was to me a sign of what was seen in him during his time on The Tudors; a versatile actor who would become whatever role he was given...

Sorry for the Confusion

Well, this is interesting... My first posting from my brand new smartphone.

I'll cut to the chase and say that with all the emotional shiznitz I have been going through that, sensibly, episode 15 of my broadcast will have to wait another week.

Sorry.

Who's Watched or Watches the Watchdogs? Part Two - Civil, or Uncivil Liberties?

ADVISORY: The following information is entirely of my own opinion and is naturally composed, therefore, of my own free will and with no outside co-ercion (sic!). This is in fact simply my chance to say my piece on the whole "national security" debate having seen "Citizenfour" and the excuses that are often used to monitor what we say or what we do!

Also, this may contain triggers for some, so please, read on with caution! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Whassup!

We're back again and I trust you found the last posting informative and worthy of your time. If not, then I'm sorry. But if you did then thank you for coming back for part two as I look into personalising what I raised in part one.

Are you ready?

Then let's do it...

The World of the Stingy

"The world of the generous gets larger and larger;
the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller" Proverbs 11:24

Have you ever noticed that the less you have, the more you want, or the more you have the more you still want?

That's the question I'm going to be focusing on today as we head into a new season of prosperity and super-charged belief in what we are doing in order that we become amongst the best in the world at what we do!

A bold statement that may appear to be, but I want you to consider the ramifications of such a statement as that because it will straight off help you to assess whether the words of your world really are framed large or small, by generosity or stinginess (ED - let's see how many Scrooge references appear here!).

Ready for the fireworks?

Here we go...

A Dangerous Mind

It's been a long time since I wrote on here, hasn't it, bro's?

I'm truly and honestly sorry for that and want you to know that it's not because I didn't want to, because I did, it's just that things have been chaotic at the minute.

Let me break it down for you...

The Write Dimension II - "Sack Me? SACK ME? I Made the BBC!!!"

Well what an absolute shi... bummer! :(

Last night I was laid off by Domino's for reasons which I cannot go into right now because it's still too raw to talk about.

I was basically told "look, you're replaceable, you can't cope with the demands of the job? I can just hire another driver"... way to boost the self esteem, man! >:^(

I'm not going to b***h and whine about it though, because I've done that in the past and it just leaves me bitter and confused. Instead I'm providing a little bit of perspective...

The Write Dimension I - Making Changes Where Change Is Due

This is going to be a quick one because so much has changed for me since I last wrote on this blog.

First off, I've been that busy with my new job, working as a delivery driver for Domino's that I haven't had time to give much thought other than to game or to watch movies when not on the clock...

A Little Impromptu Posting

I've just been sat on the front step of my flat as I'm often wont to do these days, listening to the evening's Full Works Concert on Classic FM and got to thinking about updating my blog, so here's another post!

I suppose you're wondering whether this will be a musing or a rant and I'll tell you the truth and say that it's the former rather than the latter, because I have no interest in running this blog at 70-75% rant status, especially when I've reviewed stuff in the past.

Saturday @ Glastonbury 2014 - Nothing Really Matters & More...

Well, just as I had anticipated, the Metallica set on Saturday night's Glastonbury was well worth watching and staying up for!

Glastonbury, Minecraft & Other Such Stuff...

It's been far too long since I've done one of these postings, where I can get chance to just chew the fat over what I've been up to of late.

For instance, I've finally managed to get some proper time in on Minecraft for my Xbox and I've got a project on the go at the moment that has seen me build a church, a bridge and discover a mountain.

Life, huh?

Job Opportunity? What A Waste Of Time!!!

Right,

This posting comes amidst a joke of an "interview" I experienced today so let me tell you all about it as I'm sure you've heard it before or maybe even experienced it yourself...

Has Call of Duty Lost The Way?

Wow...

I've just seen the reveal trailer for the new Call of Duty game.

What can I say that I haven't already said before?

Laptop Dead - Stand By For Sporadic Updates...

Man this is weak and it's also lame! :(

Last Friday my laptop died after a minor incident involving a spillage (more on that to come) so I've been sans laptop until now though I'm loaning this from my dad, which means I'll have to give it him back real soon.

In the meantime, I'll be updating when and where I can via the library computers and this loaned laptop, so expect some delays for the foreseeable future whilst I work out the best solution for getting my laptop fixed.

Thank you for your patience, bro's! ;)

Peace out!

Console Wars - For The Id10ts...

Whassup, bro's!

Well, I've finally managed to pick up an Xbox 360, even though i know we're a generation ahead now with the likes of the Xbone & the PS4 on our shores and the likes of Titanfall one of this generations final great games, already making waves before it's even released on the 360... And that's not counting the cheaters that have been spotted on the PC version!

What's my take on this whole console wars b.s...?

A Complicated Little Setup

It's been a while since I updated you all with how things are going, hasn't it?

So what better time to start than right now and with the plans for the future ot tWD.

But not before I let you in on a little secret I've been thinking about this week as far as the future of this blog goes...
