Well, he's finally gone and done it, Seb Vettel has finally secured his fourth consecutive World Championship, joining the likes of Juan Manuel Fangio and Michael Schumacher!
This is not going to be so much as a review of the Indian GP, more like a brief (very brief as these past reviews have just been getting longer and looonger!) celebration of the way Vettel has secured greatness in such a short time, being only 26 years of age...
The race itself was eventful, even without a single safety car incident to speak of, for in qualifying Romain Grosjean, the pretender to Räikkönen's throne at Lotus, he lost out on strategy big style, ending up in 17th position, only to come back, battling hard to secure his place on yet another podium... I'm telling you, this bro' is eclipsing Räikkönen and he's not even left yet!
I think other stars of the race include Nico Rosberg, the first time he'd been on the podium since Monaco, I believe, so it was nice to see him up there, even if Lewis Hamilton was unfortunate with strategy and traffic really, to miss out like he did. I wish the Mercedes car's consistency, for his sake, was greater because he deserves to win another championship too!
I could ramble on and on, as we know I've become accustomed to doing, but that's not the way forward anymore, as I've decided that, because they're spiralling out of control these reviews in terms of length, I'm reeling them right in!
Going over into three and four part reviews is not healthy and just takes up way too much of my time, which is at a premium anyway at the minute because of my business start-up I'm obsessing over, lol!
So from now on, as long as I don't ditch them all together, then you can continue to catch them on this 'ere blog of mine!
For now, let's just celebrate what Vettel's brought to the sport, consistency, brilliance and sheer skill. Whilst I do not see Daniel Ricciardo pushing him too hard next year, he is not in safer hands than the Red Bull team because they have a fantastic driver for him to learn from, and some truly great engineers (step forward Adrian Newey, that's for sure!) so he's in good hands being promoted to the major team for next year!
Next time out, it's Abu Dhabi, one of my favourites (like all the others I've mentioned in my reviews, lol!) so it should be interesting to see if people respond, too little too late and all that, lol!
Peace out!
