Before I get onto the moment that blasted the championship wide open, I do have to say it was unfortunate at this point for Damien Cudlin, new to the MotoGP this year, to be entering the pits after all of this chaos, but all will become clear later on...
First up there is the matter of the disqualification of one Marc Marquez to take care of!!!
I could not believe my eyes when I saw this and heard the commentators state that Marquez had been black flagged... they were busy trying to work out, with Pedrosa's early pit stop, whether he was the one at fault for being too early, or Marquez for being too late!
It was deemed the latter, as Pedrosa had taken his pit at the start of the bike change window, and not after it had shut right in Marquez's face... GUTTING!!! :( :( :(
The rules are the rules, bro's, I wondered why he stayed out when Lorenzo went in, apart from the obvious fact that I've already covered, he must've been that obsessed with taking advantage of Lorenzo pitting, that he forgot that he too had to go in then else risk the DQ!
Ah well, it happens and now that means Lorenzo has a mere 18 points to overhaul at the top of the championship if he's to do it and a further two rounds in which to do it in! YESSS!!!
I've already written off Lorenzo's championship, haven't I? Did I do it too hastily?! :D
The rest of the podium was made up by Dani Pedrosa and Valentino Rossi, which was phenomenal to see because it was a case of all the riders necessary, taking advantage of the black flag for Marquez.
He would not be the only one to be black flagged though, as Bryan Staring was shown the flag, again for not pitting when he should have, along with Damien Cudlin! WHOA!!!
Crutchlow, with Rossi on the podium was ultimately left to scrap it out with Bautista (again!) for fourth position and he took it on the final lap, which must bore him as well as he's becoming an off-podium specialist too!
Finally, the top CRT rider, before I pick out my 'Rider of the Day', was Randy De Puniet, the luck eventually coming back to him in the end after his qualifying mishap!
Makes a change from Aleix Espargaro, doesn't it, bro's?!
Jorge Lorenzo
This was an easy one to pick and, though I knew Lorenzo had won @ Phillip Island earlier on this week (before even than I'd seen Sepang too!), the way he handled the pressure from Marquez and proved that "whatever he can do, I can do just as aggressively" and this is why he's now only 18 points away from retaining his title instead of over 40, like he was before this race!
He handled the pit stop brilliantly, as did his team, and the never-say-die of the Yamaha rider is why I rate his as my all-time fave MotoGP rider!
Next time out, it's Motegi and the latest I've heard on that one is all Friday practices for MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 have been suspended because of thick fog! :S
Keep safe, bro's!
