Brotherhood 2014 Part Seven - The Art of Making Pt V

Whoa!

Alright, come what may, I am finishing this review of all the stuff that I've garnered from Brotherhood 2014!

Strength of Character

It's one thing to have the resolve to see off your haters or rise to the occasion of their baited traps and defeat them, but it's another to have the character to withstand all that the enemy can throw at you!

Proverbs 11:3 ESV  The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.

Need I say it any better? "The integrity of the upright"? Think about what that word means; integrity "the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles" describes me to a tee and I take no shame at all in being like that because it's better than being a liar and proving yourself offspring to the father of lies: -

Joh 8:44  You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

BOOM!!!

So whatever's thrown at you, don't give in to it, choose character over compromise every time!

Strength of Purpose

So you've got the character, you've got the resolve to stick it through the tough times, now all you need is the purpose to live for and me? I'm living for a "higher praise"; a calling that is higher than anything I could have ever imagined; God and Him alone!

Purpose will forever be at war with passion and it will be purpose which either lights the passion within you, or passion that derails you from your purpose. You can get so obsessed at times with your calling that you fail to heed the warning signs all around you to slow down and just "take a chill pill, Bill!".

So let me advise you not to let life happen all around you, you have the power to change your circumstances, your world all by making one decision; that today I'm not going to let my situation get control of me and make me feel the way I should in the midst of it.

You know the drill, bills come and you panic. But instead of panicking, just stop, take a look around, take a deep breath if necessary and decide for yourself that you'll never again let life pass you by because you've spent that much time worrying.

I've done my fair share of it, don't you doubt, especially as I know that end of April is looming ever nearer every day (even if April has only just started a few days ago!). This is in spite of the fact that God promised before Christmas, in November time that He would see me through the period where I wondered whether I would be able to pay off my car insurance in one lump sum like I envisaged. Secondly, He promised me at that time that He would also take care of the tax in April.

ALL I HAD TO DO WAS TRUST!!!

Bazinga!

Today, (well yesterday because it's now gone 1am Friday morning) I went over to my landlord, FCHO, to see about a possible rent rebate as I knew I was ahead. I will not bore you with details because I've already sent this review into SEVEN BLOODY PARTS! Just know that He came through, as He always does and not only will I be able to pay off another year's car tax, but also will be able to have myself a nice little holiday later on this year.

I haven't had one for a couple of years now, THAT dedicated have I been to my cause! SHEESH!!!

So, that being said, I know that like I've already posted "my God will come through, always" and I can rest easy knowing that the rest is easy because I just need to be in the right place at the right time and it will all come to pass!

BOOM!

Okay, nearly there now, nearly at the end so let's just jump back into the Word now: -

2Ki 4:8 ESV  One day Elisha went on to Shunem, where a wealthy woman lived, who urged him to eat some food. So whenever he passed that way, he would turn in there to eat food.

This is one I seriously recommend you read because it is phenomenal what happens when you're in said "right place at the right time", here was Elisha on his way to Shunem and before he'd even said a single word they knew he was a man of God so decided to make a room for him upstairs.

Final Thought - Make For Yourself a Miracle Room

My final thought then, is that no matter what you face, face it with purpose, with character and with resolve and when you feel like life is getting on top of you, try creating a mental picture where you can go to get away from it all and you'll be surprised at the results.

Me? I developed quite an anger problem when I worked for IBM as I was dealing with people who clearly had no training when it came to using computers. It took a significant health scare to shock me back to life and back on track and I started to learn developing a quiet place where I could go.

What is my place? One of them is simply a desert island in the middle of nowhere, somewhere it never rains and there's always a party of one going on!

Crikey, I'd forgotten about it until just now because I don't spend that much time there anymore. Not because I'd fallen off the wagon, purely because I've learnt of differing ways to vent (one of them of course being here on this blog!), from meditation to exercise and just listening to chill out music.

Watch this and tell me you don't feel all chilled: -

What? I'm wrong and you're not relaxed?? LIARS!!! :D

Remember, like the great Albert Einstein once defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results! SIMPLES!!! ;)

I sincerely hope you've stuck all this out until the end and if you have then bravo to you and give yourself a pat on the back and I'll drink to you tomorrow night when I go through my relaxation routine! ;)

Peace out, bro's!
