Brotherhood 2014 Part Three - The Art of Making (Day Two)

So...

Having discovered that what what you appreciate, appreciates in value and, well, you know the opposite of that, I found it high time I remembered my vision all along.

If you've been reading since the early days of my blog where I shared my vision involving a certain Qatari influence, I have since discovered that there is so much more to my purpose than that, it looks like I'll not get there now with God changing my course this past year.

But I digress, onto day two!

Measures of Faith

This morning session started off with our home pastor, Glyn Barrett, talking about how it is possible to have differing measures of faith. He started off with a reading: -

Romans 12:3 ESV  For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

"...according to the measure of faith" - what a wonderful turn of phrase because it implies that the measure you are given from birth, is not the same one you end up with when you die.

Why?

Easy! The more you exercise it, like a muscle, the better and fitter it becomes for its purpose. Just as you don't walk on your hands or eat with your feet, neither should you feel fatalistic with the measure of faith that you feel you've been given; it's up to you to start exercising it regularly!

Ps. Glyn then used an illustration where he took five jugs and had five glasses sit in front of them, in each of them he poured a differing amount of liquid (later revealed as Vimto, so it's all good!) representing a range of people's faith levels (I'm not talking religion here, this is straight up what you believe in!).

As usual, I started to think where I fit into the equation given that the first glass barely had any liquid in, and the fourth one had enough to overflowing. I also know you're going to be wanting me to tell you where I came out, right? Wrong!

Alright, seeing as you've asked politely, allow me to present another song for your enjoyment: -

There you go then! That's not my turn to brag, it's just an honest assessment of where I feel my faith is at the moment as in the line: -

"If faith can move the mountains, let the mountains move"

It has an air of inevitability about it doesn't it? That suggests whatever I'm believing for then may it just happen already because I believe it will!

This is bold coming from someone who openly confessed recently on here that he's been sans girlfriend for, well, ever so what faith does that purport to express? Massive faith I think, but that's because my God is massive to me!

So going back to the verse I opened my Brotherhood postings with: -

1 John 5:5 MKJV  Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Yikes! Now we're getting down to business, to the sharp end of things, so I'll get it out there; whilst I do not have a problem with you if you believe not what I believe, I do have a problem with you if you don't respect that my opinion's different!

"Variety is the spice of life" and all that bro's! ;)

Whoa, this is getting intense now and it promises to get even more so given that I've barely scratched the surface of Day Two!

Peace out!
