So,
We're here at the final part of my series on taking inspiration from every day sources and moving yourself up to a higher reason for living.
We've covered what gets you up in the morning, we've also worked out that you need to live for a higher reason otherwise circumstances and the daily grind will quite happily pull you down again, so what's next?
That's an easy one, you stick with it to your heart's content!
If I give you an example of learning to play an instrument, in my case it was the guitar around twelve years ago. Now, I could have given up at the first obstacle but I didn't. I stuck it out and here I am some twelve years later a damn good musician if I do say so myself.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying my talent came overnight... oh no no no, it had to be nurtured, cared for and honed until it was where I am at today.
But enough about me, this is supposed to be about you!
Life often has its way of dragging you through the mud and you can either let it or as I like to think of it, resolve within your inner gut to go down swinging. Don't let setbacks rule you out of contention for any prize because they are merely obstacles waiting to be overcome as you grow to be the better man or woman in your chosen area.
You don't magically get good at anything overnight, do you?
It comes with, sometimes, years and years of practice and whilst there may be some areas that you are naturally talented at (for me it's public speaking as well as my guitar playing), there are also some areas that you'll have to work damn hard at to either get the recognition you deserve, or to get anywhere that's considered impressive.
This is where I operate on a different frequency that makes all the difference because people will try and talk you down from the branches if they think you can be hit down from your tree. You have to steel yourself anew each and every day to say that no matter what comes your way, you're going to face it with confidence and knowledge that your ability is enough to overcome any obstacle.
If it's not enough then you know that you have to grow that little bit more as a person in order to face the same situation again and this time end up with a different ending.
Life is like a multiple choice story; sometimes you'll pick the wrong direction, but it doesn't matter as long as you're willing to admit you screwed up and get back on the straight and narrow.
Say sorry to those you've wronged, say sorry to yourself for all those times you've come down hard upon yourself for making a mistake and live your life with purpose anew today.
Next will be another series of postings, covering what I'm not sure yet, but I'm sure it will be helpful as always.
Peace out!
Welcome to the quirky dimension that is my journey as a Christian and fully devoted (just not perfect!) follower of Christ. Here you'll find out that, as a writer, there's next to nothing I'm not prepared to write about, including my faith. Prepare for a smash-mouth style to collide with colourful topics as I continue to blog into everything that God has called me to be. Do not adjust your monitors, there is nothing wrong with them, you have simply entered... The WRITE Dimension!
