Well, just as I had anticipated, the Metallica set on Saturday night's Glastonbury was well worth watching and staying up for!
It had all my favourite tracks on, from: -
What is probably my all time favourite: -
Along with some other quality, quality tracks all performed with their in your face style and whether you would have it or not, they were here to stay for that hour and a bit they were on stage.
Another highlight of the night was from Jack White, who was performing material from his new album Lazaretto (which I hasten to add I must buy at the nearest available opportunity!), available here.
His version of the original White Stripes song, which incidentally he was in, was far grittier than the original: -
Overall, he reminded me of just why I like his style; simply because it's slightly left of field and not what some might call proper music. Whether it's true or not, my impression is that with Jack White's music, you'll either like it or you won't.
I'm the former, can't you tell?? :-P
Finally though and by no means least was Robert Plant, who was on BBC4 after Kodaline & Kelis had kicked off the BBC3 coverage and boy was he worth it.
He's still got it going for him, proving that age is just a number to even the most sublime of rockers and also ending that myth some people have going that people should act their age all the time (to those I say "suck it up and weep!" because you're only as young as you feel!).
Quality music once again reigned throughout all this proving that when it comes to festival coverage, the BBC can be right up there with the best of them and no doubt there were extra streams too on their website!
Before I get accused of a BBC bias, which I am entitled to for Glastonbury, I'll just end today's posting by saying that the Sunday performance I'm looking most forward to is Ed Sheeran's given that I could not care less about Kasabian who are overrated in my book, but that's my opinion and I'll be damned if I let anyone else tell me otherwise!
Peace out
