LS022 - I'm Free to Live (Or From the Voice of a Blogger)

Hello everyone!

I wanted to take advantage of this moment whilst I'm feeling the best I have done in a very long time so wanted to capture the moment before it dissipates.

As many of you know now, I'm on medication at the moment for anxiety and depression and, it has been riding me something rotten over these winter months. To push through, I have been trying to keep my focus ahead and on what Christ is leading me to instead of getting bogged down in negativity that often comes hand-in-hand with depression.

I'm hoping to take you all on a journey with me as I continue with by years long battle with the issues I've had. In short, they led me to a point last year where I felt forced to not only acknowledge that I have a problem, also to admit that it was time to start doing something about it...

A Private Person

What a lot of people don't understand about me is that I'm a very private person, I won't share my feelings easily. That's, in part, why I started this blog; to give me a voice when I felt like I had none.

Sure I've had to overcome my setbacks along the way (who hasn't, right?), I just want to make sure that I am becoming the very best version of myself that I possibly can be, that I have been made to be. That can only come with a lot of hard work, a lot of hard work and an equal amount of determination to see it through to the very end.

This is why it was a very big thing for me to start this blog around six years ago because, whilst I wrote initially about motorsport, as life continued to happen (and issues started to break apart on the inside of me), I realised that I was becoming responsible for a voice, for my voice on the internet.

I've made some mistakes along the way, crushed on someone something rotten for the last three years but got nothing earthly to show for it, along with other mistakes that might have contributed to some people leaving me in the lurch.

So imagine then, that as you start to post about real life issues, that you start to realise that you are being given a responsibility to use your voice wisely because we all can think of sources that are profound for their "fake news" or "biased opinions".

My Blogging Mission

I started to realise that God wanted my blog to be different; He wanted me to start blogging honestly, from a place of vulnerability that leaves no stone unturned and thus nowhere to hide. I'm not saying that other blogs are not honest, just that if I'm claiming to be a Christian then the least that I can do is follow my mission statement to the tee as best I possibly can: -
My aim is to follow Christ with an undivided, devoted heart whilst presenting a Kingdom that is unbiased in its true form whilst also showing a universal love to everyone I meet.
I'm going to get it wrong because I'm not perfect and that's the price I pay for representing a Kingdom that is perfection. This is something that is starting to become infused into my character as I seek to represent God as best as I possibly can, all the while, presenting the miracles of a fact of life that come with letting God move as He will in my life.

I'm slowly starting to gain some traction and it is through moments like this, through posts like this where I can blog the clarity, just as much the shade, to see the difference between the two mindsets and see if there's anything I can do differently.

Final Thought

As I wrap up this post on what freedom in Christ actually means to me, I am hoping that you can see now why I do what I do. Even if you can't, just to know that there might be somebody out there who takes comfort in these words of mine is enough. If I help just one person see that there is another way to do life, then that is my mission achieved with this blog.

I want you all to embrace the freedom that is in your lives even if you feel like your circumstances have you all chained up at the moment, like I do. Sometimes, all you need to do is to start singing "about midnight", like the Apostle Paul did in Acts 16 and watch as my answered freedom soon presents itself!

Peace!
