Creative Academy V: The Sequel - Make Music Skilfully and LOUD It Says... SO I DO!!!

Wow!

What an eventful few weeks I've had at the Creative Academy at !Audacious Church and it's almost at an end now.

The crucial question was 'how did it go tonight'?

Here goes and I'll tell you all about it...

Superb!

But not with some minor hiccups and I hasten to admit that I only add this because it has been my aim since day one to give you the lowdown on how I've found it.

Now I say "minor hiccups" and you're already thinking 'crikey, what happened, what did he do?'... well I'm glad for your vote of no-confidence, lol! :-P

As we hit the ground running with "Rise" (which I've already linked throughout this series of postings so I won't here), I found myself hitting a mental brick wall with regards to chord progression for this song.

Or to put it simply, I forgot the bloomin' chords at one point and just had to jump back in when and where I could! :-D

Now I know this is unprofessional if you draw attention to yourself with your mistakes so I inadvertently remembered my former guitar teacher, Mick, and what he said in such a situation as this "keep playing, don't draw attention to yourself and your mistake".

In truth, I thought to myself 'now this is just silly because I know I know the words along with the chords to these songs' and I think, if I'm being completely honest, I've just had a case of performance anxiety.

Why?

Simply because I know where I went wrong and with that right at the forefront of my mind, I am determined to make sure that I do not make the same mistake as last time and actually be the showman I know I'm capable of being.

I was thiiis close to actually jumping up and down at one point (yeah, it's my blog so it's supposed to be about me being completely honest with myself and with my fellow readers!) so know that for the performance, I was clearly feeling the music so just need to let go that little bit more and watch what happens as a result!

In closing then, I want you all to remember that no matter where you go, what you do, give it your all and then you can have no complaints when you hit the proverbial ball out the park toward success!

Say positive things over yourself and your circumstances and watch what happens, the universe will begin to align with God's greatest creation at the forefront living all for His glory!

Peace out!
