That was an intense session and I think I've just about recovered from performance week at the Creative Academy at !Audacious Church!
I've already mentioned what songs we did so there's no need to go around that, really? Except I'll show you a really cool version of Turn It Up that helped me nail that sucker so hard it's embedded into the walls of time itself as an effort slammed home! :D
I'll let you in on a little secret; I... did not practice anywhere near as much as others would have!
I know you can probably hear the protesters and the nay-sayers saying that I should not have done that as it allows me time to practice the damn song!
Well I don't need to practice as once it's learned, it's learned and there's no unlearning it!
I can go into a song and after watching the riffs a couple of times, I sh-kid you not, I can master it almost effortlessly!
Yes of course you practice that to get it down to a fine art, but when you're as gifted as I am, you don't need to fear getting it wrong because you already know your stuff!
Right, that's enough ego stroking for now, lol!
Afterwards was the creative collective and a chance to just engage in some high quality worship led by the excellent Matt Hill, before Mark 'Foz' Foster got up and talked about the future vision for the creative department.
"We are called to live on the front foot", to paraphrase a little what he said, we're effectively making way for others to enter into the presence of God. True words.
Next week it's ultimatum time where I get to find out if I've made the cut and the only thing I'll say is how Adam said to us as a whole, "this is the strongest group we've had in the Academy", so I'll leave you to work out what that means for me! :-P
Peace out!
