This week just past, well Thursday to be precise, was the first of our practice weeks at the !Audacious Creative Academy and I must admit that I've been looking forward to this since I knew that my audition was a given, such was my confidence flying high and all that (yeah, and then I got hit with a medical bill requiring attention, but that's for another post entirely!)...
The songs we'll be practising are "Victor's Crown" by Darlene Zschech: -
"Rise" by our own in house band the !Audacious Band (no link currently it's that new, lol!) and a third song: -
This is, of course, "Turn It Up" by Planetshakers, one of the most ingenious worship bands out there, apart from our own in-house band of course, lol! :P
Simply put, this evening was only an hour long but we already practically ripped our way through the basic concepts of "Rise" with a view to maybe looking at "Turn It Up" next Thursday... I amazed myself throughout this as I was forced to admit, finally, that I am as good as I think in terms of musical ability because no sooner did Adam (this is the first "Adam" now, not the one who led my audition) show me what needed to be done as lead guitarist than I was ripping it out!
I tell you, I only need two promptings; first to show me what to do and second for my brain to take it onboard!
The super-freak 200+ IQ strikes again!!! :D :D :D
Inflate my ego? No, merely enhance what was already there!
That's all for now, folks, next week it's more practice and no doubt more awesome Stu-ness springing up from within!
TTFN,
