Representing God, Saving Man

Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” Exodus 3:13 (NIV)

Hello everyone and welcome to another devotional accompanying yesterday's broadcast!

First up, let me get this right out of the way off the bat; my feelings have not in the slightest changed as far as a certain person is concerned... THAT... IS ALL!!!

So if you're reading this, hon', I like you, I like you... a WHOLE HECKUVA HEAP!!! ;-)

There!

Now that's out of the way, I can focus on the issue at hand...

On the Proving Grounds

After God had said to Moses that the proof that it would be he who would deliver the Israelites, would be when they returned to the very mountain where God first spoke to him.

If you remember last week, I put across the idea that sometimes you have to go back to the very words God said to you in the first place. Realisation hits then that if God said it, then I think I've already proven that He will do it because He is a Man of His word: -
As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it Isaiah 55:10-11 (NIV) emphasis added
So if I take my trip to Llandudno in 2009 when God told me that He'd picked someone out for me to start a family with, it will happen!

Representing God - The Truth of the Matter

The big challenge then is that we are to remember no matter what we're going through, what we're facing, who we're talking to, we are indeed representing Almighty God.

After starting my Momentum: Overflow celebration on Monday, I realised that in crushing on someone so bad it hurts, I was still representing God so had to make sure that I was behaving the way a responsible Christian man should.

Why?

Because I am carrying the light of Christ in me designed to spread His glory: -
You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV) emphasis added
Here it is then; in recognising that I'm carrying the very light with which God first revealed His glory, I realise then that the revelation I had before Christmas '15 was a lot closer to the truth than I knew: -
There are only two things that I hold myself responsible for in this life; what I do to people & what I say to them.
In setting that rule into my code, I started to see just how easy it was to speak your mind, but also how easy it was to cross the line when it came to speaking to your friends.

I fell out with a very close friend of mine, who hasn't been in touch since, and have had numerous fall outs with another friend of mine. This is when I started to realise that the words I said were clearly having an effect and not the one I desired!

Am I changing?

Not for anybody because I am who I am!

Final Thought

But what I am doing, is realising that I need time & I need space away from the after hours club for a while because seeking God has to take a greater priority than it ever has, especially if I am to find out if a certain person likes me.

People won't understand just yet because I have to make sure that I'm setting some time aside to read my Bible and write some more of my thoughts down.

God is my priority now, I had my crush dethroned on Monday and now I'm paying the price of being reminded how easy it is for things to usurp God's place in my life.

I'm paying the price and shall continue to do so as I go deeper in my opinion walk with God... much, much deeper!!!

Watch the skies!
