#Raising Up Fearless III: Where Then is Boasting?

Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith. Romans 3:27 (NIV) emphasis added

Hello everyone and welcome to the concluding devotional in my #RaisingUpFearless!

I've been back now on social media for a week and I can certainly say that it feels weird to be back amongst it all!

I have, as I put in my very long-winded re-introduction post on Facebook, admitted that I may be liable to leave it again in the future, it just depends how my 'reboot' experiment goes.

Onto this week's devotional content...

Only the Host Can Boast the Most

Have you ever heard someone boasting?

I'm sure you have and I know I have done my fair share of it on here, haven't I?

Like, for instance, if you take a look at some of my previous posts where I've talked about the future and what is coming for me... you could argue that I'm boasting about it and it's not even happened yet!

The guarantee, in the natural, would be that it cannot be expected because nobody knows the future, right?

WRONG!!!

God is outside of time and as He can see the end from the beginning, He is ready, willing & able to share with us, His faithful followers just a glimpse of some of the amazing things that He has planned for those who love Him: -
Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him. Isaiah 64:4 (NIV) emphasis added
So what I do with that is apply it to my situation and realise that even though I'm not aware exactly how it will happen, I am allowed to rest on the fact that IT WILL HAPPEN!!!

I could use songs to reinforce my point here, but I won't because that's just too easy an option and I would simply rather state that because God has spoken, He will bring it to pass...

But, but, but...

It will be first and foremost for His glory!

On the Proviso You Look the Right Way

So any provision will come with it attached an instruction to use it for the glorification of God.

I take this deadly seriously when it comes to dating, for example, because this is another person's heart as well as my own we are talking about. I'm quickly reminded that, whoever I date, I am dating a daughter of the Most High King...

Fact!

I am dating a wonderful woman made in her King's image...

Again, fact!

I am dating a woman who has, herself, been given dreams and hopes...

Thrice fact!

So what I do with that then, along with the rest of the stuff I've been talking about in this series is to realise that after I have gotten rid of shame, I therefore should know who I am in Christ.

This is something that she should expect; a Christian man who knows who he is in Christ.

I do!

Keeping Thy Promises Unto Death

Next, I am a promise keeper because God has promised me fatherhood as well as other things which haven't made it onto these pages, yet.

So is she; a promise keeper!

Finally, the only thing that I can boast in is the fact that it was God who brought us together, not me, or her!

That's the only thing that I'm allowed to boast in because He told me it was going to happen and it did (ED - even though he's still waiting for that promise to arrive and her to actually fall for him!)!

Final Thought

So as this series draws to a close, what next?

I don't know because, technically, I'm writing this two weeks ago (ED - get your head around that one then!) as I wanted to get far enough ahead that I can just relax and focus on being the best example of a resurrected believer as possible heading into my new season.

"Resurrected believer", I said?

Of course because God has been resurrecting me out of my old mindsets of crippling guilt and shame and leading me to a place now where I'm far, far happier with who I am in Him and into a point where I can start focusing on my walk forward again!

Which way are you focusing?

If it's back, then stop looking back and look ahead because our eyes are not in the backs of our heads, are they?!

Watch the skies!
