He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering." Mark 5:34 (NIV)
Wow!
What can I say that I haven't... no, wait, that's not the way to start this one... take two! :-D
Let me just say that I am feeling like my old self all over again now because of the monumental breakthrough experiences I had at church yesterday!
I'll talk more about them in a more in-depth posting later on this week, for now I want to cover the new series of devotionals that I've started this week titled "More Than Enough"...
What to Do Next
As Sam Smith blares from my phone, I'm writing this off the back of, as I said only moments ago, a truly monumental breakthrough encounter with God yesterday that has blown the walls down on my expectations as well as the ceiling of my mind being blown apart!
In this week's broadcast, I raised the idea that God will meet all of our needs "in union with the Messiah Yeshua", taken straight from the Complete Jewish Bible translation.
Two questions: -
- What does that mean? and
- What does that look like?
If God Be For Us
Let me take a look at it again in a bit more detail: -
"in union with the Messiah Yeshua"
For those not in the know the term "Messiah Yeshua" simply refers to Jesus Himself. Interesting note here is that as there is no 'J' in the Jewish alphabet so the closest Hebraic translation comes to is Yeshua.
So what does "in union with" mean?
Think about it.
You could say "together with", or "alongside" and you'd be closer to the truth than you think.
We are told that Jesus is at the right hand of the Father, His and our Father, interceding for us: -
Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Romans 8:34 (NIV)
There you go!
Right there!
So let's think about this for a moment...
If Jesus is at the right hand of God interceding for us then that means that not only do we have God fighting for us, but we also have Jesus cheering us on.
If that be the case then what does that say of whatever problems we are facing?
I'll tell you what it says; it says that we are more than enough for them!
Now, onto what it looks like...
LOOK To Me When I'm Talking to You
If Jesus intercedes for us, then at the right hand of the Father is the best place for Him to be because the right hand is often considered a position of great strength.
So contemplate this; the fact that Jesus is interceding for us, then it is also God whose ear is bent towards us, towards our cries for help next time that we are down!
With this in mind, then, we need to start realising that God is forever attentive to our needs and though we cannot see Him at work all the time, we know that He will meet all of our needs in union with Jesus...
Not only is God riding to our rescue, but so too is His Son, Jesus!
Final Thought
I could go on here, but I'll save it for next week because there's plenty more to pull out of this.
Now that we have discovered that God can guide us through our unbelief and intimidations in life, we should indeed be beginning to believe that with God at our side, we have more than enough to beat whatever challenge we are faced with!
Watch the skies!
