The Hunger Games Review

Well, I've just finished watching The Hunger Games and all I can say is... what a film! :-D

I admit I was dismissive when I first saw the trailer a few years ago but having seen Divergent not so long ago, I thought I'd give it a chance to impress me.

Boy has it!

Stylish and Well Executed

After being utterly disappointed by the remake of "The House at the End of the Street", I admit it; I doubted Jennifer Lawrence's acting talent...

Well not anymore!

I traded in some dvds yesterday including my collection of Frasier dvds that I've got bored with and as soon as I saw the first two Hunger Games films for a total cost of £2.50, I thought that my chance was here to be impressed.

The impressive camerawork and well-paced action scenes give this film an added value that is sadly lost in a lot of films these days where it seems to be more about throwing so much stuff at you and sticking it in 3D to make it great... not so!

Are the books any good? I don't know but if this were my work that's been turned into films, I'd be proud, very proud!

Final Verdict

This one's an easy one to rate:-

Great film, I'm now looking forward to Catching Fire!

Peace out!
