Then God said, “Let the waters swarm with fish and other life. Let the skies be filled with birds of every kind.” So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that scurries and swarms in the water, and every sort of bird—each producing offspring of Here wethe same kind. And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:20-21 (NLT)
Here we go now, life as we know it is starting to form on earth!
The pieces have been laid in place for life to begin to prosper the moment it is placed upon the earth and this time, it is the turn of the water creatures and the birds.
What I want to highlight at this point is what God says in verse 22: -
“Be fruitful and multiply. Let the fish fill the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth.” v22Why highlight this? Simple; God was here deciding that fishes belonged in the sea and birds on the land, putting an end to the theory that we all came from the sea! :-P
Everything Has a Place and Everything IN Its Place!
Also, I would like to note here that God is starting to put every creature in its place, thereby revealing that sometimes, you've got to be in the right place at the right time to do the right thing!
Are we getting the message yet? The voice of God is a powerful thing and that my friends is an understatement!
With His words, God has formed the universe, the earth, set all planets in their place along with the sun, moon & stars.
So let's get personal now, can a voice like this really have an impact on your life?
Believe it or not, yes and no...
- Yes - because if you let Him, God can do the miraculous and change dead situations around bringing them back to life; and
- No - Because you have the ability to limit His effectiveness in your own personal life if you are not willing to co-operate with His plan
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19 (NLT) emphasis added
Sorry, I've just contradicted you right there... literally, right there! ;-)
God can and He will meet all your needs.
Did you notice that, though? Your 'needs', not your wants!
Now, I'm not saying that it's a crime to want stuff, but you should only expect to receive it if it meets the following conditions: -
- It lines up with the characteristics of who God is; and
- It lines up with the Word of God
Final Thought
It is no good, therefore, praying for something if you are trying to manipulate God into doing something that you want Him to do, because it will not happen!
God's plan is ultimate and it will stand!
Until next time,
