Whassup, whassup!
Well, the 2013 Formula 1 season is finally underway with Kimi Raikonnen taking the chequered flag ahead of Fernando Alonso and, in my view, he was well worthy of the win as, from the moment he took that lead, his team worked out a 2 stop strategy was the way to win that one!
I thought Lewis Hamilton has to get special mention as his Mercedes certainly sounded on impressive form (though I was listening to the F1 coverage on Radio 5 Live because I don't have the word 'MUG' written on my forehead into getting Sky! Sly dig there!) resulted in him finishing an impressive fifth, which for a team like Mercedes is certainly a step in the right direction!
I cannot go too much further without hailing Adrian Sutil's return to F1 as well, because after a season out due to reasons that have already been publicised (so I don't need to here for this is not the place, this is MY wheelhouse!) he certainly took to his Force India car like a duck returning to water... clocking out in seventh place.
The biggest surprise for me was McClaren's fortune (or lack thereof)... there have been question marks based on what's come from their camp over the drivers' familiarity with the car, a wholly new package compared to a handful of the other teams who've just re-jigged last year's model and added on some extras. I was surprised to see the way it handled for Button & Perez in qualifying and it definitely didn't seem on the pace throughout the race.
Don't write them off though, because it's only 1 race down with another 18 to go, peeps! Button & Perez are two talented drivers who can certainly take them to the next level once their car's performance really kicks into gear (sic!).
The guy I've tipped for the title, Seb Vettel, clocked out in 3rd so that's not to shabby for the first race and I'm still not switching allegiance as I'm no part-time loyalist unlike some fair weather putos!
That brings to an end tonight's entry and, now that I'm almost halfway into my 17 in 25 posts challenge, I can safely say that this is a banker that I'll get this done in time!
Peace out, bro's!
