Catching the Updraft (Further Steps to Beating the Depressive)

Hey everyone!

It's weekend, so I hope that you are all making the most of it!

Earlier this morning, I posted quite a breakthrough article that just popped into my head as I wanted to pass on the tips that I've discovered in my own journey to beating depression.

Today I wanted to, not follow it up per se, but to post some further thoughts on what I posted recently about catching the updraft...

The Updraft to Another Level

I recently told a friend that, for me, life is about finding that updraft and ascending with it so that you constantly remind yourself that no matter what comes against you, it will not stand: -
No weapon formed against you will succeed, and you will refute any accusation raised against you in court. This is the heritage of the Lord’s servants, and their righteousness is from Me.” This is the Lord’s declaration. Isaiah 54:17 (HCSB) emphasis mine
The reality of your situation is that, though it may look bad today, it is not really as bad as you think because God loves you & He is still with you.

"Yeah, but you don't know what I'm going through!" - That might be your response and you're right, I don't know what you are going through right now...

But you know what?

God is still good & He is still on the throne!

"If you knew what I was going through, then you too would wonder why God allowed this!" - That also might be your answer and you're right again, as I've literally just said, I don't know what you're going through...

But you also know what?
We know that all things works together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 (HCSB) emphasis mine
I know it doesn't look like it or feel like it right now, but God is at work for you and He will bring you through all this pain, all this hurt, all this suffering!

Interestingly, the above verse has a couple of footnotes in my Bible version that I've chosen, so let me amend that to read with those included: -
We know that God works together in all things for the ultimate good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 (HCSB) emphasis mine
Life can try to choke you, it can try to keep you down, what you have simply got to do is to keep your head above the waves, your face up to the clouds and know that that is where you're help is coming from: -

Let that song sing deep into your spirit so that, like me today, you too will eventually be able to say, with confidence: -
"I lift my eyes up, my help comes from the Lord!"
It is as simple as that, if you will begin to declare it over and over again today!

Final Thought

When you can do that, you will know that ultimately you're going to come out of this without even smelling of the smoke from the fiery tribulation that you are currently walking through: -
Nebuchadnezzar then approached the door of the furnace of blazing fire and called: “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, you servants of the Most High God—come out!” So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of the fire. When the satraps, prefects, governors, and the king’s advisers gathered around, they saw that the fire had no effect on the bodies of these men: not a hair of their heads was singed, their robes were unaffected, and there was no smell of fire on them. Daniel 3:26-27 (HCSB) emphasis mine
In this passage, King Nebuchadnezzar had thought it easy enough to dispose of the four young men who were defying him and his laws; to throw them into the fiery furnace.

Yet what happened?

They emerged from the other side because God was there with them in the preceding verses: -
Then King Nebuchadnezzar jumped up in alarm. He said to his advisers, “Didn’t we throw three men, bound, into the fire?” “Yes, of course, Your Majesty,” they replied to the king. He exclaimed, “Look! I see four men, not tied, walking around in the fire unharmed; and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.” Daniel 3:24-25 (HCSB) emphasis mine
So please, take a leaf from my book, from all the other saints that have gone before me and keep fighting!!!

You will make it through this, you will stand up under this today and you will emerge the other side victorious; in Jesus' Name!

Peace!
